Seems like it’s a summer of recollections of 1969. The Apollo 11 moon landing, Woodstock’s 40th Anniversary next week, and today, in between the two, Londoners celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic Abbey Road album cover shot. A moment in time, contemplated by so many music fans, recalled countless times during repeated listenings. While the shot was taken on August 8th, Abbey Road, the actual album, would not be released until September of ’69. I visited this unassuming street in 2005 with with MediaNet’s CEO, Alan McGlade. Just like everyone else we re-created the crossing out in front of the Abbey Road Studios. The album remains one of my all-time favorites.
