Registration for Set Up Events’ Newest Series Opens February 2012

 

Wilmington, NC – February 22, 2012 – Set Up Events, one of the nation’s largest triathlon production companies, announced today the launch of a new battlefield for human competition, The Brave Soldier Challenge (BSC). Compromised of six events, the Brave Soldier Challenge is designed to test athlete endurance, strength, and agility. The BSC fires its first round in Wilmington, NC, followed by five more Brave Soldier Challenge events that have been strategically selected for proximity to east coast military base centers.  Registration for most of the 2012 events will open February, 2012.

Andrew Silbereisen has been named to the newly created position of President of Set Up Events. Andrew’s responsibilities will be management and direction of the existing business, new business opportunities and strategic growth. Prior to joining Set Up in his new capacity, Andrew was a Senior Database Analyst within the Nuclear Division of Duke Energy located in Charlotte, NC.

Mary Toffolon has been named to the position of Operations Coordinator. Mary is the Director of Operations for the highly successful PPD Beach2Battleship Iron and Half Iron Distance Triathlon in Wilmington, NC, and will also continue her role as volunteer coordinator for Set Up Events.

Krysten Rivenbark has been selected to the role of Online Registration Coordinator. She will be responsible for managing all the online contacts, registration and race owner communication and accounting.

Wilmington, NC – November 30, 2011 – Set Up Events, one of the nation’s largest triathlon production companies, announced today the launch of the Georgia Triathlon Series (GTS), comprised of events ranging from Sprint and Olympic distances to a Half Iron distance event throughout the state of Georgia. Registration for most of the 2012 Georgia Triathlon Series events will open December 13, 2011.

Coach Peter Harsch joins MPI as the company’s first West Coast coach. Based in San Diego, Peter is a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, 12-time Ironman™ finisher and 3-time Kona qualifier and finisher. With more than 17 years of triathlon experience, Peter has competed in over 80 events. Peter is also an ABC-Certified Prosthetist and previously served as the US Paralympic Track and Field Team Prosthetist, and as the Team Director for the USAT Paratriathlon team in 2009 and 2010. Peter’s deep experience and recognized skills and expertise in paratriathlon add significantly to MPI’s coaching team.

Sold out Sea Turtle Tri caps off MPI’s biggest event season yet

 

Pensacola, FL – October 5, 2011 – MULTISPORT PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE (MPI), a leading provider of multisport coaching, training camps, clinics, specialized services and events, wrapped its 2011 event production season this past Sunday with the sold out Sea Turtle Tri Kids Triathlon.

In the 2011 event season, MPI produced the largest youth triathlons in the Gulf Coast Region – the Jubilee Kids Triathlon, and the Sea Turtle Tri. In addition, MPI also produced the Maritime DeLuna Du Kids Duathlon, and the hugely successful and innovative Thursday evening Portofino Sunset Tri Series.

For 2012, dates have already been secured for the Martime DeLuna Du (March 25th, 2012) and the Jubilee Kids Triathlon (June 3rd, 2012). Dates for the 2012 Sea Turtle Tri, an extended Portofino Sunset Tri Series and the remainder of the MPI 2012 event season will be announced later this fall.

Second Annual Kids Triathlon to take place Sunday October 2nd

 

Pensacola, FL – September 29, 2011 – MULTISPORT PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE (MPI), a leading provider of multisport coaching, training camps, clinics, specialized services and events, today announced the sellout of its Sea Turtle Triathlon.

Now in its second year, the Sea Turtle Tri, along with the Jubilee Kids Triathlon, also produced by MPI, have become the biggest youth triathlon events in the Gulf Coast region. The success of the Sea Turtle Tri is a significant indicator of the tremendous growth of triathlon both locally and nationally, and as a sport with a broad appeal to both youths and adults.

The 2011 Sea Turtle Tri takes place at Opal Beach, on Pensacola Beach. The race starts at 8AM on Sunday October 2nd, with 4 age divisions starting in two separate waves:

The two-and-a-half day CAF Dodge Paratriathlon Camp, an official technical training camp of USA Paratriathon, will be held August 25-28, 2011 in San Diego, CA.   Headquartered at the Deni + Jeff Jacobs Challenged Athletes Center, the camp is open to amputee and wheelchair athletes in classes TRI 1, 2, 4 and 5.  Participating athletes will receive nutritional guidance, personal bike and handcycle fittings, expert classroom and hands-on technical instruction, personal swimming evaluation and other tools that will help them achieve their Paratriathlon goals.  Athletes will have access to top-quality coaches including Mark Sortino and John Murray, USA Triathlon Level 1 coaches from the Multisport Performance Institute (MPI) in Pensacola Florida; Peter Harsch, USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach and Chief Prosthetist for Naval Medical Center San Diego; and four-time Ironman Handcycle Division World Champion, Carlos Moleda.  In addition to the team of elite coaches, participating paratriathletes will be able to draw upon the expertise and experience of world-class challenged athlete mentors Willie Stewart, Melissa Stockwell and Mike Johnston.

Single Day and Long Course Multi-Day Camps added to event schedule

On Saturday, August 6th, MPI will hold a Single Day Training Camp at the Portofino Island Resort, on Pensacola Beach, FL. MPI’s inaugural Portofino Sunset Tri Series is a 4 race series that kicks off Thursday, June 23rd. Subsequent races will take place on Thursday evenings through the summer – on July 21st, August 4th and August 18th. All races will be held at the Portofino Island Resort, on Pensacola Beach, FL with a start time of 6:30PM.

Since the inception of the sport of triathlon, races have typically been held on weekends. The Portofino Sunset Tri Series offers a new and unique opportunity for triathletes to add additional races to their existing calendar, with evening races during the week. The races are a Super Sprint distance, comprised of a 300 yard swim, a 7.5 mile bike ride, and a 1.5 mile run. The Portofino Sunset Tri Series is designed for triathletes of all experience levels. All series races will be sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

CAF TO HOLD DODGE PARATRIATHLON CAMP IN PENSACOLA

 

OFFICIAL TECHNICAL TRAINING CAMP OF USA PARATRIATHLON TO FEATURE ELITE COACHES AND MENTORS

San Diego, CA - April 29, 2011 – The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), a world leader in creating athletic opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities, has announced its second Dodge Paratriathlon Camp to support the recent inclusion of Paratriathlon in the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janiero.  The purpose of the camp is to increase interest in the sport and help aspiring paratriathletes hone their skills at a comprehensive two-and-a-half day camp focusing on technical training techniques, race preparation and nutrition.

Taking place at the Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola, FL May 5-8, 2011, the camp will be led by world-class coaches  Sergio Borges(USA Triathlon Level 3 coach), Peter Harsch (USA Triathlon Level 1 coach)and local USA Triathlon level 1 Multisport Performance Institute triathlon coaches Mark Sortino and John Murray.  Participants will be supported and mentored by some of America’s top paratriathletes, including Paul Martin, four-time ITU world champion, Sarah Reinertsen, the first woman on an artificial leg to complete the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, and Jon Beeson, former ITU world champion and Co-chair of the USA Paratriathlon Committee.  Participants in the Dodge CAF Paratriathlon Camp will include injured 10 service members from CAF’s Operation Rebound program.

“Identifying and developing America’s paratriathletes as we prepare for the 2016 Paralympics is critical to securing spots on the podium in Rio,” said Beeson.  “Full, comprehensive camps led by top experts and authorities, such as the ones put on by the CAF, allow up-and-coming paratriathletes to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to succeed,” he added.

“We are excited to be working with our partners to provide the most comprehensive and technically advanced camp available to paratriathletes in the United States,” said Roy H. This is the first accounting under an industry-wide agreement between music publishers, record labels and digital distributors in conjunction with the 2008 royalty rate set by the Copyright Royalty Board. Usage reporting and accounting will be available online for the first time in music publishing history.

This month, more than 12,000 music publishers may log in to password-protected websites at www.musicreports.com to view accountings, download monthly usage reports, and update song ownership information. Unequaled in digital copyright expertise, Music Reports has issued more than 5 million Notices Of Intent (NOIs), and negotiated thousands of licenses on behalf of its digital distribution clients in anticipation of the establishment of a royalty rate determined by the Copyright Royalty Board.
